What you need to know

Arduino Uno
The Arduino is an open source hardware design, which means that anyone can build one based on the design published by those clever guys at
It is based around the Atmel processor ATMega328 with a software bootloader for loading new sketches (programs). The board contains power supplies and a USB interface.
As all boards are built from the same design, you won't find any basic differences whether using Arduino, Seeduino, Freeduino or AnyOtherduino although some boards add or remove some features.
When you get your first Arduino, you should first download the Arduino build environment from Downloads, making sure you select the correct Operating System for your computer.
